Borussia Mönchengladbach have acquired the services of Torben Müsel from 1. FC Kaiserslautern. The 18-year-old attacker has signed a long-term contract with Die Fohlen.

“Torben Müsel is a dangerous attacker and one of the most talented players in his age group. We’re extremely happy to have been able to sign him,” says Borussia’s sporting director, Max Eberl. Müsel will initially take part in Under-23 training from 18th June, before joining up with the first team from 1st July for the preseason.

Müsel moved to 1. FC Kaiserslautern from his hometown club of SV Obersülzen at the age of seven, where he played for all of their youth teams. His professional debut came last September against Union Berlin, before playing in a further eight games for the now third tier side. He also scored ten goals in 18 games for the youth team. He has netted braces in five of his appearances for the Germany Under-20s and also made his Under-19 debut last November.
